Beach Cities
BcD Health District Live Well. Health Matters.

A Public Agency
July 13, 2022
Dear Honorable Mayor Pro tem Nehrenheim and members of the City Council, Beach Cities Health District is pleased to provide the City of Redondo Beach with Service Agreement Contract #22-23/4-A-C totaling $147,813 in funding for fiscal year 2022-2023. This services agreement represents the continuation of existing partnerships between the City of Redondo Beach and BCHD and a new partnership to combat homelessness in the City of Redondo Beach. As you can see from the attached table, this service agreement is part of over $950,000 in annual funding that BCHD provides to the Redondo Beach Community.

The funding in this contract is provided for three program areas:
1) Emergency Medical Services in the amount of $58,000. This funding provides for a nurse educator to provide continuing education to the City of Redondo Beach Fire Department employees and reimbursement for the purchase of medical supplies for the ambulances.
2) Domestic Violence Advocacy Program in the amount of $39,813. This funding supports the salary for the domestic violence advocacy program coordinator. 3) Homelessness Services program in the amount of $50,000. This funding is new to the service agreement this fiscal year and is provided for support services to assist with the successful placement of individuals experiencing homelessness into housing. Services include, but are not limited to, counseling, psychiatric treatment, substance use counseling, medical detoxification, and/or medical services. City of Redondo Beach staff would have discretion over the selection of services on a case-by-case basis.

BCHD looks forward to the continued partnership with the City of Redondo Beach to provide needed programs and services to the residents of the City. Please see the attached table of BCHD funding in support of Redondo Beach residents for more details.
