A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A 2022-2023
FISCAL YEAR BUDGET MODIFICATION APPROPRIATING
$75,000 FROM THE HARBOR TIDELANDS FUND TO SUPPORT
THE 2023 FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach to review the adopted budget from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate monies to fund allowable expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to host a Fourth of July Fireworks Display in 2023 (“2023 Fourth of July Fireworks Display”) which shall include the use of a barge to allow Seaside Lagoon to be open to the public; and
WHEREAS, there are insufficient funds in the adopted 2022-2023 fiscal year budget to support the 2023 Fourth of July Fireworks Display; and
WHEREAS, monies in the amount of Seventy-Five Thousand dollars from the Harbor Tidelands Fund are available for appropriation to fund the 2023 Fourth of July Fireworks Display.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amounts allocated in the budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year, require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted in Fiscal Year 2022-2023 is modified as follows:
Seventy-five Thousand dollars ($75,000) from the Harbor Tidelands Fund shall be appropriated to fund the 2023 Fourth of July Fireworks Display.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting this resolution.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 in accordance with the above modification.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions of said City and shall cause the action of the City Council in adopting the same to be entered in the official minutes of said City Council.
