As a boater with slip in King Harbor Marina, I strongly encourage dry boat storage wherever it is possible in the marina or the nearby area. Recreational boating is a major part of this community . With so many boaters on the wait list, it is only prudent that space is made available ASAP since locations have already been identified.

Thank you

Thank you for the hard work of harbor Commission and all of the folks on the waterfront project

1. Please give consideration to the use of the now called “Small pier” for the commercial sport fishing boats operated by Redondo Sport Fishing and the Foss boats.

Prior use of the old sport fishing pier included the half day and all day fishing boats from Redondo Sport Fishing.

Once the pier began to deteriorate they were moved to the international board walk area. These large vessels along with the Foss boats are extremely noisy at all hours of the day and night. They now operate in close proximity to hundreds of residential units that have been above the international boardwalk for over 50 years. I understood that they were only temporarily in the area close to homes until the sport fishing pier was to be repaired or replaced. The continuous operation of these vessels is tremendously intrusive to those of us that have lived nearby for the last several years. The former location is near restaurants and a large parking lot, not near residential units. Please consider moving these vessels back to a less intrusive area.

2. Small boat launch. I am an avid kayaker and stand up paddle board user and the accessibility to the launch via circular drive with wash down is highly appreciated.

Additionally consideration should be given to the prevention of the swimmers and beach goers who use the current area and clog it up making it difficult to launch and retrieve small vessels. If the great lawn is in that area it should be fenced off from the sandy beach launch area or it too will become crowded with swimmers defeating the whole purpose of providing a small craft launch. On a recent outing, picture attached, as is typical most weekends, there were over 20 swimmers/beach goers using the area making it difficult if not impossible for me to return to the dock and remove my kayak. Some are in the picture attached. There were easy up shade structures as well.

Please consider parsing off the lawn so as to prevent this overcrowding of the small craft launch area.

Thank you

Subject: Public Dry Boat Storage
CAUTION: Email is from an external source; Stop, Look, and Think before opening attachments or links.

Good Afternoon -
I would like to express my support of Public Dry Boat storage under current review by the council. In reviewing the places that are under review for dry boat storage I support two of the areas. I feel all three are critical to Redondo Beach becoming a world class boating destination for all types of boaters, but two seem to be able to be accomplished fairly easily. Moonstone Park is needed for the outriggers whose club is growing and serves a very diverse community. It also could be expanded for SUP & Kayakers with storage. Mole D area is a logical area given its proximity to the launch ramp, though that whole area needs to be reconfigured, but is currently very underutilized except for Beachfest. The area would support the small fishing boats and pull up mast sailboats. The time to start moving on some of these projects is now. There has been way too much discussion and no action for too long. Our harbor is looking dated and is only being used by a few citezens.

ACT NOW! Sincerely ,
Pamela Sellars
