Hi City Council Members,
Thank you for your continued efforts to solicit public input for the proposed harbor amenities. I am writing to you on behalf of King Harbor Youth Foundation (KHYF) and requesting you strongly consider mast up storage in your final amenities plan. KHYF operates year round sailing programs for the community and has over 300 youth sailors in our programs annually. We currently operate out of King Harbor Yacht Club and use their storage to keep our boats, but it is at capacity. If we had additional mast up storage available to us, it would allow us to purchase more boats and continue to grow our programs and continue to serve the local community.
I am also interested in hearing more about your plans for the educational zone and how non profits such as KHYF can participate in the planning and utilization of the future space.
Thank you for your time,
From: Pamela Sellars <[email protected]>

Subject: Public Dry Boat Storage
CAUTION: Email is from an external source; Stop, Look, and Think before opening attachments or links.
Good Afternoon -
I would like to express my support of Public Dry Boat storage under current review by the council. In reviewing the places that are under review for dry boat storage I support two of the areas. I feel all three are critical to Redondo Beach becoming a world class boating destination for all types of boaters, but two seem to be able to be accomplished fairly easily. Moonstone Park is needed for the outriggers whose club is growing and serves a very diverse community. It also could be expanded for SUP & Kayakers with storage. Mole D area is a logical area given its proximity to the launch ramp, though that whole area needs to be reconfigured, but is currently very underutilized except for Beachfest. The area would support the small fishing boats and pull up mast sailboats. The time to start moving on some of these projects is now. There has been way too much discussion and no action for too long. Our harbor is looking dated and is only being used by a few citezens.
ACT NOW! Sincerely ,
Pamela Sellars
