THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR PROJECT SERVICES ("First Amendment") is made between the City of Redondo Beach, a chartered municipal corporation ("City") and Syncromatics Corp., a California corporation (“Contractor" or “Consultant”).

WHEREAS, on December 17, 2019, the parties entered into the Agreement for Project Services between the City and Contractor (the "Agreement"); and WHEREAS, the parties desire to provide additional duties and increase amount of compensation paid to Contractor; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the promises and mutual covenants contained herein, and intending to be legally bound, the parties hereby agree to make the following amendments to the Agreement:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND/OR SCOPE OF SERVICES

AVA DESCRIPTION
See attached specifications.
76 Next Stop Annunciator
GMV offers an ADA-compliant annunciator system that will automate the process of announcing arrival at each stop when a transit vehicle is in service. The AVA system is fully integrated with the on-board MDT and also with each bus’s existing PA and/or speaker system.

Annunciator Hardware
Audio Processor
The processor receives text signal from MDT and
dynamically generates the stop announcement
audio, which is amplified and distributed to vehicle
speakers. This is a significant evolution in AVA
technology from less sophisticated systems that
rely on a 3.5mm audio line out of an MDT/VLU, or
an MDT/VLU that stores audio recordings.

Interior LED Sign
Signs display route and stop info that matches
announcements to meet ADA requirements. Signs
also display date/time and customer service
messages.

Microphones
GMV AVAS system includes your choice between a
handheld microphone with a push to talk button, or
a gooseneck microphone that can be outfitted with
a switch or a hands-free foot pedal. In some cases,
we can use existing microphones. Most XLR
microphones are compatible with the system, as
are a limited selection of other connection types. A
field survey will be required to confirm and the
agency should select a preferred option in case
existing microphones are not compatible.

Emergency Preparedness
Earthquake? Flood? Amber Alert? GMV offers the industry’s only AVA product that allows you to type a message at your computer and with a simple request, push that message out wirelessly and be playing in every single AVAS equipped vehicle within minutes.
