Hello, my name is Colin Chia, a resident of Redondo Beach and an 11th-grade student attending Redondo Union High School. I am fortunate to be one of the inaugural allcove Youth Advisory Group members. allcove is extremely important to me because it has provided me the opportunity to have a voice and be a representative for the youth in our community. As a 16-year-old, I know firsthand that a teenager’s mental health is fragile due to academic demands, sports, and social acceptance. There is a stigma among teenagers about recognizing the need for help, especially regarding mental health. With the increase in stress and anxiety, I believe that mental health is a significant issue that needs improvement through more programs and resources, which is exactly what allcove aims to do.
A rewarding part about being a Youth Advisory Group member is that we helped to design and create the new allcove Beach Cities Center, which not only offers mental and physical health services, but also simply provides a space for youth to relax and charge their phones. The versatility of the allcove space helps lower the stigma surrounding mental health and aids the unique needs of the youth. Through the process, we helped to design the space with the selection of furniture, snack offerings, and service providers that best fit allcove’s purpose and vision. We also had the opportunity to interview potential resource providers for the space and determined the services we would offer. In addition, we provided tours, delivered holiday gift bags to those in need, and are now organizing covefest which will be held on January 21st. Covefest is a fun event that will be held at the allcove Beach Cities Center with live music, engaging activities, and a perfect view of the sunset. We encourage all in the community to join us at covefest!

Hi, Niki from D3. Regarding the Greenline.
I got word that after 2 & 1/2 years of not being able to use outdoor space the Ruxton townhome complex is finally being repaired by Shell Pipeline Co. as lessors on the Right of Way. This is the "routine maintenance" debacle that caused a sinkhole to open and damage the separating wall to the Right Of Way and the foundation to the point that the homeowners were unable to use their outdoor space and one couldn't even use their front door. The damage made it hazardous so it was sectioned off with caution tape all of this time.
This just illustrates how dangerous building on the ROW really is and how reckless and irresponsible it is for anyone to try and push that option for Metro.
There are absolutely NO (zero) "mitigations" that could possibly make that ok. Everybody needs to understand this.
Thanks for your support.

I wanted to express my support for our first responders who protect us on a daily basis. My daughters and I went to fire station 2 and the main police station to drop off cookies on Christmas Eve. As a first responder myself, I wanted to instill a sense of appreciation for those who work to keep us safe while we celebrate the holidays. I wanted to express to the council the need to support our public safety and ensure they have the best equipment and facilities to keep us safe. Specifically I wanted to say that the police department needs to get a new police station built. According to the police department website, the current station was built in 1959. That is way overdue. Our first class Police Department who is the community and leading the way in law enforcement deserves to have the facility that show cases it. To be at the forefront of innovation and “doing more with less”, the Redondo Beach Police Department exemplifies all that we expect and want from a community/problem solving Police Department. Investing in the police departments future is vital for this city to continue to be a safe and wonderful place to live. But to also attract professional men and women to this city takes more than just a salary but a sense of pride in the building you work in. Updating or replacing the building is investing in the safety of this city for future generations of citizens and police officers alike who would want to work in their home town. Thank you.
