Ms. Eleanor Manzano, City Clerk
City of Redondo Beach
415 Diamond Street
Redondo Beach, California 90277
Dear Ms. Manzano:
Here are the recommendations we have for the HAPLA position on the Harbor Commission, for the next four year term. This appointee will take the place of Michael Jackson, whose term will expire on September 30, 2016.
1) Matthew Kilroy— former City Councilman who was termed out after serving eight years. He is our first choice because we feel he understands how the City and the Harbor Commission work, and won' t have to be educated like many of the first timers would. He understands the Brown Act, knows the Harbor and the Pier, and although he lives in North Redondo, because of his time on the Council, he knows most of the people he would be representing and serving in this position. He would be a valuable addition to the Harbor Commission. 2) Marina Mora— a business woman in Redondo Beach. She and I served on a Chamber Board a few years back. She is bright, positive and has a common sense approach to issues. 3) Tony Czuleger—a Contractor in the South Bay. Comes from a family of active public political participation in Redondo Beach. His family has lived in Redondo all his life and his Uncle, Bill Czuleger, was Mayor of Redondo for several years. We have heard Tony speak at various public meetings and he is articulate and positive on moving this city forward. 4) Julian Stern— a young man who ran for a City Council seat and lost, but impressed everyone who heard him speak with his knowledge of the issues and his ability to articulate his ideas. He is a positive young man who is willing to put in the time to study the issues and eager to get involved.

5) Susan Cardone— works for the California Water Company. Currently serves on the Chamber Board with me and is knowledgeable, studies the issues and is able to make good decisions.
Other Lessees have had experience with her on volunteer boards.
If we can help with anything further, please let me know.
Respectfully,
j
