A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A FISCAL
YEAR 2022-2023 BUDGET MODIFICATION TO TRANSFER
$740,000 IN CAPITAL FUNDS FROM CIP JOB NO. 20930,
ARTESIA BLVD PROPERTY ACQUISITION TO THE GRANT
AVENUE SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, JOB NO. 41090
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of Redondo Beach (“City Council”) to review the adopted budget from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach’s (the “City”) adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate monies from the City funds to fund necessary expenditures; and WHEREAS, on September 21, 2021, the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach approved the revised Plans and Specifications for the Grant Avenue Signal Improvements Project, Job No. 41090 and the Grant Avenue Bulb-Outs Project, Job No. 41340 (collectively the “Project”), and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for competitive bids; and WHEREAS, on November 3, 2022, bids for the Project were received and publicly opened in the City Clerk’s office; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid was Select Electric, Inc., a California Corporation, in the amount of $2,985,000; and
WHEREAS, the current budgeted amount for the Project is approximately $2,693,500; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Administrative Policy/Procedures 14.1, the City may appropriate additional funds to cover a contingency of up to or greater than 10% of the Project contract amount of $125,000; and
WHEREAS, the amount of $740,000 needs to be appropriated to the Project to fund any budget shortfall and potential contingency; and
WHEREAS, the Project, including the potential contingency will cost approximately $3,432,750 of which $2,693,000 is allocated to the Project and $740,000 is needed to complete the Project; and
WHEREAS, existing funds may be transferred from one CIP Project to another to fund any deficit; and
WHEREAS, Capital Funds in the amount of $740,000 are available for appropriation from the previously funded Artesia Blvd. Property Acquisition CIP Job No. 20930; and WHEREAS, the City desires to transfer $740,000 from the Artesia Blvd. Property Acquisition CIP Job No. 20930 to the Capital Improvement Project Job No. 41090; and WHEREAS, the City desires to use these available funds to the remaining costs and cover potential contingencies for the Project.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The amounts allocated in the 2022-2027 Five-Year Capital Improvement Program Budget and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year and require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 is modified as follows:
$740,000 of Capital Funds from Artesia Blvd. Property Acquisition CIP Job No. 20930 shall be appropriated to the Grant Avenue Signal Improvements Project, Job No. 41090.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 11 (f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget records of said City Fiscal Year 2022-2023 in accordance with the above modifications.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
