AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADDING SECTIONS 3-
1.09 AND 3-1.10 TO TITLE 3, CHAPTER 1 OF THE
REDONDO BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE FOR BICYCLE
STORAGE AT THE CITY TRANSIT CENTER
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) will have bicycle storage lockers at the City Transit Center; and
WHEREAS, the City shall require permits for the use of the bicycle storage lockers at the City Transit Center, for periods equal to six months; and WHEREAS, the City shall require rent on an hourly basis, for the use of the bicycle storage lockers at the City Transit Center, for periods less than six months.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. AMENDMENT OF CODE. Sections 3-1.09 and 3-1.10 are hereby added to Title 3, Chapter 1 of the Redondo Beach Municipal Code to read as follows:
Section 3-1.09 Bicycle Storage Permit
(a) No person shall store any bicycle at the City Transit Center’s bicycle storage lockers for a period of equal to or greater than six months without first obtaining a permit from the City.
(b) To obtain a permit, the applicant shall first file an application in writing on a form furnished by the City Transit Manager or designee for that purpose, execute the permit, and submit the fee listed on the application.
(c) The permit shall be personal to the permittee and non-transferable. (d) The permit fee shall be set forth in the Master Fee Schedule, which may be amended from time to time by resolution of the Mayor and City Council.
Section 3-1.10 Short Term Bicycle Storage
(a) Upon implementation of short term bicycle lockers at the City Transit Center, a person may rent a bicycle storage locker at the City Transit Center on an hourly basis for periods less than six months.
(b) To rent a bicycle storage locker at the City Transit Center for a period less than six months, a person must contact the City Transit Manager or designee. (c) The manner in which to rent the bicycle storage locker at the City Transit Center shall be prescribed by the City Transit Manager or designee.

(d) The fees shall be set forth in the Master Fee Schedule, and may be amended from time to time by resolution of the Mayor and City Council.
SECTION 2. INCONSISTENT PROVISIONS. Any provisions of the Redondo Beach Municipal Code, or appendices thereto, or any other ordinances of the City inconsistent herewith, to the extent of such inconsistencies and no further, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. SEVERANCE. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each section, subsection, sentence, clause, and phrase thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, or phrases be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 4. PUBLICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be published by one insertion in the official newspaper of said city, and same shall go into effect and be in full force and operation from and after thirty (30) days after its final passage and adoption.
