Dear City Leaders
I am writing to thank you for considering the Pickleball striping at the parks mentioned in the agenda for for March 14.
As you might know, I am an advocate for parks, natural open space, and the quality of life for our community members.
I would very much like to see dedicated Pickleball courts created around the city.
Another possibility could be striping at school sites for players on weekends and off‐school hours.
One of my great regrets is the past gifting of Redondo Beach public lands to private businesses through the years. These lands would have been perfect for the community to use and enjoy for recreation, meeting space, and community gardens.
Yes. I fully understand financial needs, but the quality of life for our people is much more important to me to than temporary budget concerns. There are organizations, such as Trust for Public Lands that help communities like ours establish parklands.
Going forward, my hope is that the city put the people first.
Businesses will have to buy their own lands for their private projects, not take public land.
Deepest Gratitude
