EV charging accessibility. I am requesting that Redondo Beach council considers installing more free EV chargers. I am senior on a fixed income and disabled. I am currently driving to Hermosa Beach to charge my car.

Initially when I purchase electric car I thought that Redondo Beach had the same offerings for free charging as they do in Hermosa Beach, come to find out that they are very far and few between. I live in Riviera Village close to the triangle parking Lot at Avenida de La Norte and Elaina. There is two charging stations there, however unless you are a city employee it fee based. Thank you for your consideration.

The City must submit comments in the DEIR regarding the many defects of the DEIR. Furthermore, the EIR is completely bereft of adequate analysis of the multigenerational negative health impacts of using the existing rightof-way. The residents will be subjected to 24/7/365 intermittent noise and vibration, creating a myriad of negative health impacts and chronic stress, according to the Blue Zones project that has been steeply funded for millions of dollars by BCHD. BCHD has elected not to protect the district residents and Redondo Beach residents from the right-of-way path. The City must send a sternly worded letter to CEO Bakaly to determine why BCHD has forsaken the residents of Redondo Beach by refusing to file formal DEIR comments. A sample of the many Blue Zones damages can be seen at https://bit.ly/DEIR-Defects-1 Agenda Item: eComments for P.1. 23-5646 DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING COMMEMORATING

We are all Americans. Please focus on what unite us instead of finding and promoting new ways to divide us.

Focus on providing services that truly benefit Redondo residents, things like no pot holes, lowest 911 call response time in the country, etc.

SHURTLEFF ET AL. v. CITY OF BOSTON ET AL.
https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/20-1800_7lho.pdf This dispute arose only because of a government official’s mistaken understanding of the Establishment Clause.

A Boston official believed that the City would violate the Es- tablishment Clause if it allowed a religious flag to briefly fly outside of City Hall as part of the flag-raising program that the City had opened to the public. So Boston granted requests to fly a variety of secular flags, but denied a re- quest to fly a religious flag. As this Court has repeatedly made clear, however, a government does not violate the Es- tablishment Clause merely because it treats religious per- sons, organizations, and speech equally with secular per- sons, organizations, and speech in public programs, benefits, facilities, and the like. See, e.g., Zelman v. Simmons-Harris, 536 U. S. 639 (2002). On the contrary, a government violates the Constitution when (as here) it ex- cludes religious persons, organizations, or speech because of religion from public programs, benefits, facilities, and the like. See, e.g., Espinoza v.

Montana Dept. of Revenue, 591 U. S. ___ (2020); Good News Club v. Milford Central School, 533 U. S. 98 (2001); McDaniel v. Paty, 435 U. S. 618 (1978). Under the Constitution, a government may not treat reli- gious persons, religious organizations, or religious speech as second-class.

If council decides to fly the gay pride flag in our city...all religious organizations and churches will be allowed to do the same.

The facts of Juneteenth and the events surrounding it should be known and contemplated by all Americans. But this resolutionn is yet another example of City Council's insatiable appetite for virtue-signaling. While this is presented as a celebration of an historic event, the ridiculous claim that the resolution is "a distinct step toward achieving racial equity and
ending the historical and continued harms of slavery" clearly shows this is not about the historic events of Juneteenth, not to mention the overzealous proscription of power and self-importance by its compiler. I oppose this resolution and urge Council to oppose it.

I ask all of you on the council: Are we raising a flag for heterosexual pride as well? Are we having a heterosexual pride month as well? If not, I would encourage you to strongly vote NO!!!! This has gotten ridiculous! The percentage of the total population that this resolution pertains to is so small in comparison to the overall population it does not merit a special “flag” to be raised nor an entire month of celebration. In addition, this overattention to the “sexuality” of a person is against all of humanity. We should never be defined by labels unless it is “human being”. Let’s celebrate human being month and raise a flag to that, instead. With the Technocratic onslaught that this initiative represents, our very humanity is at risk. I vote for submitting a proposal for “human being month”. We can all celebrate that :)(except for AI and cyborgs, of course). If transhumanism is what the technocratic lapdogs for the so-called “elite” class (lapdogs = scientists, engineers, woke academics and unelected unaccountable governmental officials) are pushing onto us with this latest “initiative for social justice”… let us celebrate being a human being while we still are able to do so. Respectfully submitted.

Hanging a juneteenth flag is discriminatory to other groups and identities and does not support political neutrality in our community or inclusivity. If redondo the city votes in favor of these measures then they should equally represent other minority groups in the name of social Justice including a flag for Iran, Ukraine, and all of the other countries that have been subject to hate and/or discrimination and oppression. I do not support my city’s decision to impose a specific political agenda on the community.

Don't waste $13,000 of city money on a flag pole and the divisive flags. Does the city feel the need to fly the Jewish flag and Christian flag? How about Islamic flag? We are all Americans, fly the American flag and California flag only.

City council and management should focus on governmental services such as police and fire, good roads and lighting, clean water, noise control, etc. Not everyone enjoys flaunting sexual orientation or having it paraded in front of us and our children uninvited. Please keep a professional appearance. If the city council thinks the city has too much funds on its hands, please allocate the money for this agenda item to the police to catch some package thieves. Please keep your priorities straight.

Our City hall is a government entity and therefore should display only the USA and state of California flag. Not flying a flag supporting LGBTQ or any other kind of social justice flag should not be an issue, nor does it signify a lack of support for these issues. There are many other ways RB can and does support the LGBTQ community in many ways. This is a good thing. Not displaying the flag will not take away from this. The point is the the City Council flag pole should not have any flags other than the two mentioned above. Discussion if these ideas is healthy, but in this case, not appropriate and offers a very slippery slope.

City Hall is the seat of our local government and any flag other than our nation's flag and state's has no business being flown there. The fact that the city is considering placing a flag representing a political movement, based on the sexual preference of its members, on a tax-payer funded flag pole at the seat of the local government, shows the inability of Council to understand their function, while brings virtue-signaling to a new height. And, I won't even start with the very long and slippery slope discussion. I oppose.

We are one country united as people. Unfortunately Redondo Beach is setting themselves up for failure while trying to erect a flag pole for the very small minority of people who choose to live a gay/transgender/lgbtsqixyie+ lifestyle. And the fact that Redondo is even considering putting up a Juneteenth flag is even more absurd. What liberal on the city council is coming up with this nonsense? These ideas are divisive. Keep sexual orientation, gender mutilation and mental disorders out of our city...yes transgenderism is a mental disorder and just recently changed to the opposite to appease the woke minority.

The city does not need to raise any other flag other than the American flag and or the city/state flag. And for those of you running in the next election...if this flag pole gets erected through wasted taxpayer money, this will be remembered as your downfall.

United we stand...divided we fall.

Recognizing June as Pride month in Redondo Beach is a tremendous opportunity to show in tangible ways that the city supports, protects and includes its LGBTQIA+ community members.

Historically LGBTQIA+ individuals, particularly youth, are at risk due to lack of support either at home or at school, low self esteem, isolation, addiction, self harm and suicidality. The pandemic only aggravated this and continues to escalate due to legislative bans in states nation wide.

Flying the lgbtqia+ flag in front of city hall is a great way to show the city’s pride, making our lgbtqia+ community members feel seen, safe, supported and included in Redondo Beach schools, streets, businesses and community spaces. Thank you.

I’m fully opposed to this nonsensical proposal! We are one United States. Stop doing things to try to divide people and single out certain group of people who you feel are more worthy of empathy. You want to fly the pride flag? How about a heterosexual flag? You want to enact a June Pride month? How about heterosexual Pride month? Do heterosexual people not matter anymore? Also, my fellow citizens’ sexuality is their business and their business alone. I don’t care if they are heterosexual or homosexual and the city has no business getting involved in this matter either. In regards to flying the Juneteenth flag, again we need to focus things that unite us as one people, not those that divide us. How about the Lebanese flag? The Lithuanian flag? The Jewish flag? The Mexican flag? We are a nation of all nationalities United as one. Stick to politics and only fly the American and city flags. We are so tired of hearing these nonsense, divisive proposals.

As a board member of our local PFLAG chapter, a group provides support groups and advocates for LGBTQIA equality across identities, I am in support of this measure. We are currently in a climate of hate towards these people in this country with legislation against them as citizens all over country. Acknowledgement of Pride Month shows the citizens of Redondo Beach and its visitors that this is indeed a safe and accepting place to live, work and play. It is for those reasons I think the least we can do is fly a simply flag in observance this month.
