RE: Metro C Line (Green) Extension to Torrance Project
Dear Mayor Brand and Members of the Redondo Beach City Council:

Thank you for your letter regarding the Metro C Line (Green) Extension to Torrance Project (Project).

Your advocacy on behalf of the community does not go unrecognized and we appreciate your continued service to the City of Redondo Beach.

The environmental process is intended to investigate and address potential impacts a project may have in the surrounding community and prepare appropriate mitigations. Metro anticipates that the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) will be released early next year and will more fully address concerns. In the meantime, we have requested that the Project Team respond to questions raised by community members during the outreach process to provide a clearer understanding of the Project.

Acknowledging that there are consistent themes in community feedback, the enclosed letter touches upon concerns that affect daily life for residents including noise levels, safety, emergency response, drainage, active transportation options, and visual impact. We hope that the information provides clarity and transparency during this lengthy process.

Thank you again for your leadership in improving access and mobility in Redondo Beach and throughout the South Bay Region. Please continue to engage with our staff and Metro staff during this process so we can produce a project that addresses both community and regional needs.

Sincerely,
Holly J. Mitchell
