A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A 2022-2023
FISCAL YEAR BUDGET MODIFICATION TO APPROPRIATE
$1,032,000 FROM THE VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FUND TO
THE PUBLIC WORKS 2022-2023 FISCAL YEAR OPERATING
BUDGET TO REPLACE AND OUTFIT A NEW FIRE ENGINE
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach ("City Council") to review the adopted budget from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach's ("City") adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate monies from City funds to fund necessary expenditures; and WHEREAS, the City's Fire Department will acquire a new fire engine to support operational readiness; and
WHEREAS, the new fire engine will replace one of the current front-line fire engine units (2015 Pierce); and
WHEREAS, the new fire engine will rotate the 2015 Pierce into Hold Over status and retire one Hold Over engine from the fleet; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Fleet 2022-2023 Fiscal Year Operating Budget has insufficient funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Vehicle Replacement Fund has available funds to cover the purchase and outfitting of the new fire engine; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to appropriate $1,032,000 from the Vehicle Replacement Fund to the Public Works Fleet 2022-2023 Fiscal Year Operating Budget to cover the purchase of the new fire engine.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the amounts allocated in the budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year, require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 is modified as follows:
$1,032,000 from the Vehicle Replacement Fund shall be appropriated to the Public Works 2022-2023 Fiscal Year Operating Budget
SECTION 2: Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed and instructed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 in accordance with the above modification.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
