A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, SETTING PARKING
REGULATIONS FOR THE NEW PUBLIC PARKING LOTS
LOCATED AT 1519 KINGSDALE AVENUE AND 1521
KINGSDALE AVENUE PURSUANT TO SECTION 3-10.02 OF
THE REDONDO BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, the City built new parking lots (“Parking Lots”) at the Redondo Beach Transit Center located at 1519 Kingsdale Avenue and 1521 Kingsdale Avenue, Redondo Beach, California 90278; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Redondo Beach Municipal Code Section 3-10.02, the City Council may regulate the hours of operation of municipal parking facilities by resolution, provided that the hours of operation are conspicuously posted at the facility; and WHEREAS, the Redondo Beach Transit Center services start daily at 4:45 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, a resolution is necessary to prohibit public parking between 1 A.M. and 5:00 A.M daily, and allow limited overnight parking at the Parking Lot by permit; and WHEREAS, prohibiting overnight parking from 1:00 A.M. to 5:00 A.M., in the Parking Lot, and authorizing overnight permitholders on a limited basis by permit, should reduce the impact of overnight parking patrons; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to alleviate long-term storage of vehicles at the Parking Lots.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That parking at the Parking Lot located at 1519 Kingsdale Avenue and 1521 Kingsdale Avenue, Redondo Beach, California 90278, shall be prohibited between the hours of 1:00 A.M. and 5:00 A.M daily.
SECTION 2. That the City Council directs City staff to create and erect signs in compliance with Redondo Beach Municipal Code section 3-10.03 which outline the restrictions adopted herein.
SECTION 3. That an overnight permit program is authorized at the Parking Lot located at 1519 Kingsdale Avenue and 1521 Kingsdale Avenue, Redondo Beach, California, 90278 and the City Council directs City staff to develop and implement an overnight permit program for limited users.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
