Request for Use of Redondo Beach Historic Library
Dear Mayor Brand and City Council Members:
We are writing to formally request the use of the Redondo Beach Historic Library for the CA 101 2023 Art Exhibition.
CA 101 2023, a Friends of Redondo Beach Arts (FRBA) signature event, would be held over three weekends, opening August 25, 2023. This would be our tenth and last annual curated juried exhibition, celebrating works of art and craft from local, state, national and international artists.
FRBA, a non-profit organization, has always provided this exhibition free of charge as our gift to the community, enriching the lives of residents, businesses and visitors.
As evidenced by the Redondo Beach Community response to our 2022 exhibition, the Historic Library is the perfect venue to house the CA 101 2022 Art Exhibition drawing thousands of visitors from throughout Southern California, the Greater Los Angeles area and the South Bay to the Historic Library and surrounding businesses, hotels and restaurants.
We are very excited to collaborate with the City once again to bring our art exhibition to the Redondo Beach Historic Library.
CA 101 2023
With regard to the use of the premises, FRBA has the appropriate insurance to support our exhibition and hold the City harmless from any liability during our occupancy. We anticipate no construction requirements or alterations to the premises with only minor cosmetic modifications such as painting some interior walls and bringing in modular display platforms and panels. We would maintain and protect the property and return it to the City in its original condition.
In order to create the exhibition, we would need exclusive use of the premises from July 24, 2023 through September 15, 2023. This time period includes set up, exhibition days and clean-up. We will also periodically need access for design team and artist walkthroughs starting in May, 2023.
Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Nina Zak Laddon
