A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADOPT BY 4/5 VOTE A 2022-
2023 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET MODIFICATION TO
APPROPRIATE TWO HUNDRED FORTY THREE THOUSAND
NINE HUNDRED FORTY FOUR DOLLARS AND EIGHTY EIGHT
CENTS ($243,944.88) IN AVAILABLE FEDERAL TRANSIT
ADMINISTRATION SECTION 5307 FUNDS TO THE OTHER
GOVERNMENTAL GRANTS FUND AND SIXTY THOUSAND
NINE HUNDRED EIGHTY SIX DOLLARS AND TWENTY TWO
CENTS ($60,986.22) IN AVAILABLE PROPOSITION A LOCAL
RETURN TRANSPORTATION FUNDS TO THE TRANSIT FUND
WHEREAS, the City adopted budget needs to be modified from time to time to appropriate monies from fund balances for necessary additional expenditures; and WHEREAS, on October 19, 2004, the City Council authorized implementation of the Beach Cities Transit (“BCT”) system; and
WHEREAS, BCT requires the reliable use of transit vehicles to provide service; and WHEREAS, on December 21, 2021, the City entered into an agreement with Creative Bus Sales, a California corporation to purchase five (5) BCT vehicles; and WHEREAS, due to industry supply chain issues, the price for the five (5) BCT vehicles has increased; and
WHEREAS, there is insufficient funding to cover the price increase for the five (5) BCT Vehicles and any contingencies; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds in the amount of $304,931.10 in the Federal Transit Administration Fund Allocations and Proposition A Local Return Funds to cover the cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amounts allocated in the budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year, require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 is modified as follows:
Two hundred forty three thousand nine hundred forty four dollars and eighty eight cents ($243,944.88) from Federal Transit Administration Section 5307 fund shall be appropriated to the Other Governmental Grants Fund .
Sixty thousand nine hundred eighty six dollars and twenty two cents ($60,986.22) from the Proposition A Local Return Transportation fund shall be appropriated to the Transit Fund.

SECTION 2. That, pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget record of said City for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 in accordance with the above modifications.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
