EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
With the election of Charter Review Committee Member Eugene Solomon to City Treasurer and the resignation of Kathy Wunderli (requesting consideration for appointment as alternate member), there are two vacant positions on the Charter Review Advisory Committee (“Committee”). On April 18th, the City Council directed that any discussion regarding Members and Alternates return for consideration on May 2, 2023
City Council Resolution No. CC-2204-022, amended 4/18/23 establishing the Charter Review Advisory Committee, Section 3 states: “If a member resigns or is removed from the committee, whether for cause or not, the alternate becomes the Committee member and appointing Councilmember (or his/her successor) shall appoint a replacement alternate.” The alternate for District 2 is Robert Gaddis. However, District 2 Councilmember Loewenstein has instead submitted his recommendation to appoint Jerry Woodham to replace Mr. Solomon. If the City Council wishes to accommodate this appointment, Resolution No. CC-2204-022 (amended 4/18/23) will need to be revised to change procedures for replacing members on the Committee.
