This would be wonderful; seems like a perfect opportunity from an unfortunately last-minute situation to test this out for the future. This could set a great precedent for more eco-friendly celebrations. It's also a lot more accommodating for those with PTSD, neurodivergent people, animals, and others who are sensitive to sounds and struggle with fireworks celebrations. Thank you for opening this up for public discussion. I fully support going ahead with this!

Hooray! I'm very happy to see that we'll have a drone show instead of fireworks this year! I know it was not what the city originally set out to plan for, but given the circumstances with the permitting issues for the fireworks and the subsequent cancellation, this will actually be better than fireworks. Myself and others have advocated for a drone show for several years given that traditional firework shows increase the amount of PM2.5 pollution and pose harms to pets and people with PTSD. Hopefully this will be the start of a new tradition in Redondo. Thank you for acting so quickly on this option!

I'd like to see a drone show replace the traditional fireworks shows that have been known to have a negative impact on people and pets and the environment. Drone shows are the way of the future. Glad to see Redondo getting in on the front end of it. Now let's get it approved and market the heck out of it! Anneke Blair
