A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDONDO
BEACH AND THE REDONDO BEACH POLICE OFFICERS’
ASSOCIATION POLICE MANAGEMENT UNIT FROM JANUARY
1, 2023 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2025
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 10 (section 3500 et seq.) of Division 4, Title 1 of the Government Code and Resolution No. 6046, Resolution for Administration of Employer-Employee Relations, the matters within the scope of representation that are set forth in the attached Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) have been discussed by and between representatives of the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) and representatives of the Redondo Beach Police Officers’ Association Police Management Unit (RBPOA-PMU), and except as otherwise specifically provided herein shall apply to only those employees who are employed full-time and are appointed to permanent positions in the RBPOA-PMU Bargaining Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the existing MOU with the Redondo Beach Police Officers’ Association Police Management Unit expired on December 31, 2022; and WHEREAS, representatives of the City and the RBPOA-PMU have met and conferred in good faith and have reached agreement on a successor MOU; and WHEREAS, the attached MOU will provide adjustments agreed upon by the Redondo Beach Police Officers’ Association Police Management Unit; and WHEREAS, said MOU is not binding until presented to the Mayor and City Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the MOU, attached hereto as Exhibit “A” and made a part hereof, between the City and RBPOA-PMU for the period beginning January 1, 2023 and ending December 31, 2025 is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
