A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
SUSPENSION OF PREFERENTIAL PARKING HOURS IN THE
VINCENT AND VINCENT 2 PREFERENTIAL PARKING
DISTRICTS FOR LIMITED HOURS ON AUGUST 25, 2023
WHEREAS, this year, Redondo Union High School’s (the “High School”), first varsity football game of the 2023 / 2024 season will take place at the High School football stadium on August 25
th; and
WHEREAS, typically a portion of the High School’s football games are hosted at the High School’s football stadium on certain scheduled Friday evenings starting at 7:00 P.M. and ending at 9:30 P.M.; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) created the Vincent and Vincent 2 preferential parking districts, which are located near High School; and WHEREAS, the first football game of the season played at the High School’s stadium is expected to attract several hundred guests; and
WHEREAS, there is limited parking for these guests on High School’s property; and WHEREAS, many of the guests are expected to temporarily park in the Vincent and Vincent 2 preferential parking districts which will be in violation of the preferential parking hours if this resolution is not adopted; and
WHEREAS, the issuance of citations for parking in violation of the Vincent and Vincent 2 preferential parking districts during the football game would not be in the best interest of the community; and
WHEREAS, The City desires to suspend the preferential parking hours in the Vincent and Vincent 2 preferential parking districts from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. on August 25, 2023 in order to provide additional parking for guests of High School.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That on August 25, 2023 the preferential parking restriction in the Vincent and Vincent 2 preferential parking districts shall be suspended from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions
