OF CLASSIFICATIONS BY ADDING THE POSITION OF TECHNICAL THEATER SPECIALIST
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City maintains an official book of class specifications for positions in the service of Redondo Beach. Pursuant to Article 6, Chapter 3 of the Municipal Code, as recruitments for open positions are initiated, class specifications are created and/or updated to validate required job duties, responsibilities, and qualifications. The Community Services Department has created the new position of Technical Theater Specialist in the Cultural Arts Division, that was submitted and approved as part of the FY 2023-24 budget adoption through Decision Package #6.
BACKGROUND
The position of Technical Theater Specialist was created as part of the FY 2023-24 budget adoption process for the Cultural Arts Division of the Community Services Department. The job specification (attached) for this new position will coordinate and supervise technical operations at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, in conformance with the City's current strategic plan goals and work objectives.
The Resolution and proposed job classification is attached for Council review and consideration of approval. The starting salary range as approved in the budget will be $5,222 to $6,743 per month, which is in conformance with other similarly situated positions in the PSA group. The Technical Theater Specialist will be an exempt position assigned to the Redondo Beach Professional and Supervisory Association (PSA) employee bargaining unit.
COORDINATION
The Human Resources Department coordinated the revised class spec with the Community Services Department and the PSA bargaining unit.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for the position is available in the Community Services Department’s FY 2023-24 annual budget.
