A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING A CONTRACT
TO SIERRA CONSTRUCTION & EXCAVATION, INC., A
CALIFORNIA CORPORATION, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$1,516,889.50 FOR THE DOMINGUEZ PARK PLAYGROUND
EQUIPMENT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, JOB NO. 30730
WHEREAS, the playground equipment and surrounding pathways and landscaping at Dominguez Park require improvements; and
WHEREAS, on March 21, 2023, the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach approved the Plans and Specifications for the Dominguez Park Playground Equipment Improvements Project, Job No. 30730 (the “Project”), and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for competitive bids; and
WHEREAS, on June 8, 2023, bids for this Project were received and publicly opened in the City Council Chambers ; and
WHEREAS, C.S. Legacy Construction, Inc., a California Corporation, was the lowest bidder for the Project, but due to clerical errors, C.S. Legacy Construction, Inc withdrew its bid; and
WHEREAS, Sierra Construction & Excavation, Inc., a California Corporation, was the second lowest bid, and therefore, is the lowest and responsible bidder for this Project, as more particularly described in the plans and specification thereof, and incorporated herein by reference, and is awarded the contract for this Project in the amount of $1,516,889.50; and WHEREAS, Sierra Construction & Excavation, Inc. shall provide all applicable insurance and bonds to the City for approval prior to the execution of the contract; and WHEREAS, sufficient Capital Project Funds have been appropriated for this Project in the FY 2023-2024 Capital Improvement Project Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Redondo Beach, California, awards the contract for the Dominguez Park Playground Equipment Improvements Project, Job No. 30730 to Sierra Construction & Excavation, Inc., in the amount of $1,516,889.50 on the condition that all applicable insurance certificates and bonds shall be provided to the City for approval prior to the Mayor executing the contract on behalf of the City.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
