A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY
AND THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) was awarded a grant from the State of California Office of Traffic Safety (“OTS”) in the amount of $155,000; and WHEREAS, the grant funds will be made available to the City for the period of October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the receipt of past grant funding for similar police programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Police Department shall use the monies to support frontline police services directly engaged involved in the enforcement of traffic laws as approved by the funding authority; and
WHEREAS, OTS requires that the City Council adopt a resolution approving the grant agreement and authorizing the Mayor to execute the agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Redondo Beach approves the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 State of California Office of Traffic Safety Grant Agreement between the Office of Traffic Safety and the City of Redondo Beach, attached hereto as Exhibit A, and authorizes the Mayor to execute the grant agreement on behalf of the City of Redondo Beach.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
