Dear Mike,
It is wonderful to hear back from you. Thank you so much for your email and for cc'ing Ted Semann.

Dear Ted,
I just want to reiterate following my initial email to Mike - you have an outstanding team. They really look after our beautiful Redondo Beach and our community by ensuring everything is working well and running seamlessly behind the scenes! Hats off to you and your team for their technical knowledge and work ethic. We value the reliable information they provide and their work ethic.

If there is any way we residents can help them get their much deserved recognition and acknowledgement with the local city government/council for their incredible work, please let me know.

Thank you both so very much for this opportunity to share our "nightmare turned to peace-of-mind" experience with you. We owe it to the Sewer team at Public Works.

Warmly,
Sarah

Dear Mike,
I am a new(ish) resident of Redondo Beach, having lived in Singapore and Australia for the last decade and San Francisco for the decade prior.

We bought a home in this beautiful city and started to really enjoy the wonderful schools and lifestyle for our family of 4, until.... we ran into a nasty sewer overflow situation. 4 ejector pump burnouts, sewage overflow inside our home, 7 plumbing companies consulted for a permanent solution and rectification, 3 new Ejector pumps going higher and higher in horsepower.....needless to say, this beachside living dream turned into a nightmare fairly quickly, with no one we knew to resort to, 7 plumbing companies took us for a royal ride and extracted more money than we can afford for a solution. A lot of them told me NOT to call the city as it would turn into a huge ordeal and cost me even more.

As luck would have it, Adrian from Public Works happened to come out during a routine check of the city drainage system while one plumbing company was assessing the situation and trying to work out the pipe layout under my home. Adrian was not only extremely helpful, but connected me to his supervisor Mario, who immediately came over in person and brought his team with lightning speed efficiency and technical know-how to put our troubled minds at peace. Mario, Adrian and the Sewer crew did a thorough investigation of the Beach Cities plumbing lines, sewer laterals, manholes etc. and ruled out a number of hypothesis and scenarios the plumbing companies were trying to convince me of (with 100% certainty they said that the Beach Cities Sewage was coming downhill with gravity into my home and causing all my pumps to burn out.

I can't thank Mario, Adrian and team enough for the professionalism they displayed and working through city sewer maps, analysed numerous scenarios causing the issue and one by one investigating them to rule out various hypothesised reasons and causes. They recommended changing a couple of parts and I now have a 1.5HP Grinder Ejector pump that along with their recommendations seems to be holding up well for the first time since we've moved here. (Fingers crossed I won't have any more issues).

With the bike path coming up along my home, there was another scare of a leak across the street from our home pointed out by construction workers yesterday. Once again I contacted Mario and he and Adrian came over immediately to check and once again resolved my fears.

As a new resident of Redondo Beach, my sewer issues started to make us almost reconsider living here, but I am happy to share with you that the Sewer Dept of Public Works has brought back the peace of mind I needed to envision a life here. I can't thank them enough, they have saved me a lot of further financial outflows by giving me the right guidance and eliminating false recommendations made by plumbing companies.

May I please request you to give them the highest level of service awards/recognition/salary raises - our entire street of residents is so grateful to have them serve our community and I write this email on behalf of all of us. If there is any other way I can express my gratitude and thanks to this team, please do let me know - I would like all of RB to know of their incredible service level of excellence, reliability and professionalism.

Many thanks to you all for serving our community so well.

Warmest regards,
Sarah Kuruvilla
