A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A FISCAL
YEAR 2023-2024 BUDGET MODIFICATION TO APPROPRIATE
$431,183 IN STPL FUNDS TO THE MANHATTAN BEACH
BOULEVARD RESURFACING - AVIATION BOULEVARD TO
INGLEWOOD AVENUE PROJECT, JOB NO. 41160
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach (“City Council”) to review the adopted budget from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach’s adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate monies from the City funds to pay necessary expenditures; and WHEREAS, on October 3, 2023, the City Council approved the Plans and Specifications for the Manhattan Beach Boulevard Resurfacing – Aviation Boulevard to Inglewood Avenue Project, Job No 41160 (the “Project”), and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for competitive bids; and
WHEREAS, the Project, including the potential contingency will cost approximately $5,320,000 of which $3,889,562 is allocated to the Project WHEREAS, the financial allocation for the Project is as follows: $1,316,790 from Surface Transportation Funds – Local ("STPL"), $694,035 from State Gas Tax, $200,000 from Measure M, $1,535,679 from Proposition C, and $143,058 from Capital Projects Funds, as designated in the 2023-2028 Five-Year Capital Improvement Program budget; and WHEREAS, additional STPL Funds in the amount of $431,183 are available from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s prior year per capita basis allocations to the City for appropriation to this Project; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to use these available funds for the Project cost; and WHEREAS, the City will appropriate other sources of funding via subsequent budget modification resolutions to fund the remaining costs of the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The amounts allocated in the 2023-2028 Five-Year Capital Improvement Program budget and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year and require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is modified as follows:
$431,183 of funds from the STPL fund shall be appropriated to the Manhattan Beach Boulevard Resurfacing - Aviation Boulevard to Inglewood Avenue Project, Job No. 41160.

SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 in accordance with the above modifications.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
