THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (METRO) ADDRESSING THE CITY’S LOCALLY PREFERRED ALTERNATIVE (LPA) FOR THE PROPOSED C (GREEN) LINE EXTENSION TO TORRANCE PROJECT AND DIRECTION ON ANY ADDITIONAL
PUBLIC OUTREACH EFFORTS RELATED TO THE PROJECT
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Per City Council direction during the September 19, 2023 Council Meeting, attached is a subsequent comment letter to Metro Staff regarding the C Line Extension to Torrance Project. The letter reiterates the City’s Locally Preferred Alternative (LPA) as the Hawthorne Elevated Option. The Administrative Report from the September 19, 2023 meeting is also attached for reference.
The item also provides the City Council with the opportunity to discuss and provide direction on any additional project related outreach efforts to neighboring communities, stakeholders, decision makers, and/or involved public agencies.
COORDINATION
The report and draft letter have been coordinated with the Public Works Department and the City Manager’s Office.
