A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A 2023-2024
FISCAL YEAR BUDGET MODIFICATION APPROPRIATING
$32,500 IN GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION OF
BOATING AND WATERWAYS, GRANT NO. C23SO608 TO THE
CITY’S WATERFRONT & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT BUDGET FOR THE DISPOSAL OF
ABANDONED OR SURRENDERED VESSELS IN KING
HARBOR
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach (“City Council”) to review the adopted budget from time to time; and WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) was awarded $32,500 in funding from the California Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways, Grant No.
C23SO608 to help dispose of surrendered and abandoned vessels; and WHEREAS, the purpose of these Grant monies is to reimburse the City for the costs of disposing surrendered and abandoned vessels within the King Harbor; and WHEREAS, the City’s adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate unanticipated revenue; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to appropriate these Grant monies to the City’s Waterfront & Economic Development Grant Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amounts allocated in the budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year require a modification in the budget appropriation; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 is modified as follows:
Thirty-two thousand five hundred dollars ($32,500) from the California Department Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, Grant No. C23SO608 shall be appropriated to the City’s Waterfront & Economic Development Grant Fund.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed and instructed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 in accordance with the above modification.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution, shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
