A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE FY 2023/24 SAVE GRANT
AGREEMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
DIVISION OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT AND ANY
RELATED DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) was awarded a grant from the Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways (“DBAW”) for the FY 2023/24 Surrendered and Abandoned Vessel Exchange (SAVE) in the amount of $32,500; and WHEREAS, the grant funds will be made available to the City for the period of September 20, 2023 to September 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the City has approved the receipt of past grant funding for similar police programs; and
WHEREAS, the City shall use the monies to support the removal of abandoned or surrendered vessels as approved by the DBAW; and
WHEREAS, the DBAW requires that the City approve the DBAW Grant Agreement (the “Agreement”), and authorize an official or officer to execute the Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City desires to authorize the City Manager or designee to execute the Agreement on behalf of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach approves the Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways Grant Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit A, and any related documents.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or designee to execute the Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways Grant Agreement on behalf of the City of Redondo Beach.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
