A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TO REBUDGET DEPARTMENTAL CARRYOVER REQUESTS AND CARRY OVER UNEXPENDED BALANCES AS OF JUNE 30,
2023 FOR DONATIONS, GRANTS AND CAPITAL PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the City Charter, Section 17.10, Budget Adherence, provides that the City establish budgetary authority for carryover appropriation; and WHEREAS, the City intends to carry forward to the ensuing fiscal year unexpended balances for donations and grants and provide for certain departmental carryover requests; and WHEREAS, various funded capital improvement projects have not been completed and unspent balances need to be carried forward; and
WHEREAS, the City will reserve or designate fund balances to accommodate these carryover requests; and
WHEREAS, these carryovers will in effect modify the budget appropriations for fiscal year 2023-24.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amounts requested to be carried over from the prior fiscal year’s budget be re-appropriated to departments/programs/projects as recommended by the City Manager, per Exhibits A-D. The total amount requested to be carried over for all funds is $56,497,018.59.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, staff is hereby directed and instructed to correct the budget.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
