For the record - the most expensive bike path per foot that can be found on the internet is in Europe and was $711/ft ($7M for 3km). BCHD beat that by a factor of 6X, only completing
0.12 km for $1.7M

BCHD alleges to have spent $1.73M for 400-feet of bike path. At $4,325 per foot, I can find NO BIKE PATH ANYWHERE at that obscenely high cost. The reason for BCHD's excessive cost appears to be BCHD's use of Metro funds to shore the wall to the north side of the bike path. For 70 years, the District has deferred maintenance until it was able to find a lax agency that would allow the use of other taxpayers' money to complete the project.
From a lay perspective:
Metro's Measure M Oversight Board has been malfeasant.
Metro's Inspector General has been malfeasant.
BCHD's ethics officer has been malfeasant.
SBCCOG's Board has been malfeasant.
All of these agency officers and board members had affirmative obligations to force BCHD to pay for its 70 years of deferred hillside maintenance, and all failed to protect the Measure M funds and taxpayers of LA County. Instead, they loaded the trough at BCHD for the piggies to gorge.

Note:
At $1.73M per 400 feet, BCHD spent $23.8M per mile, which is 250 times the typical estimate of the most expensive bike lane.

Hi All!
Just wanted to say “thank you” for a great council meeting this past Tuesday. I regret I couldn’t attend in person, but by video.
I was encouraged by the spirit of congeniality that infused the evening, not only between the City and the Public, but among the Council members and Officials, as well.
As Bill said, we’ve entered a whole new beginning!
I thank him for charging all the others, present and online, to carry on the vision he has created and sacrificed for so long.
A new day has dawned. No going backward.
On another topic, it occurred to me that the future Marine Life Educational Center design might be re-considered.
After studying the design of the Seaside Lagoon and learning about the design of the new Beach Life project presented Tuesday night, I agree with one speaker that the entire area be visually co-ordinated in a common theme, not three separate styles. I personally favor the “Traditional” theme, because not much has been preserved in Redondo, and would be reminiscent of Redondo’s days long past, but not forgotten.
Thank you all again for moving us forward in unity, professionalism, and friendliness.

Dear City Leaders,
Please excuse my error in my previous email last Thursday. I suggested a unified design to continue that of the eventual Seaside Lagoon for the California Surf Club project, then saw the Beach Club exterior design is reminiscent of Ruby’s. Good idea!
Thank you again for all you do for Redondo.
Best Wishes For a Happy Holiday Season!
