What are some additional thoughts you have on the logo?
1. I'll admit - the sailboat does look somewhat like a shark fin, but what's a day at the beach without a little shark fin fear?! I like that the presentation points out that the simpler the logo, the easier it is to remember. This is good for a public agency since most use City seals and other logos which are not easily identifiable and honestly make most public agencies appear similar. The graphics stand out and should be easy to integrate into City materials and items. Branding all parts of the City together at one time by replacing the mismatched logos with one refreshed design will also increase cohesiveness both externally and internally. I like the new typeface - it's modern without being too new that it will put people off. I also appreciate all caps as opposed to no caps, that always bugged me in the past. It also makes using the typeface easier in branded materials because it's more grammatically correct and does not require any changes to match the material it's being added to. In terms of colors: For me, the colors blue and orange together evoke a beachy feel along with an active lifestyle. Some suggested blues include: King Blue (see the connection to King Harbor?): #4169E1 or #456FED Bright Navy Blue: #fada5e or #516FC4 Some suggested oranges include: Yellow Orange: #ffae42 Atomic Tangerine:
#ff9966 I look forward to seeing these updates in progress! If more feedback is needed, please let me know. Thank you!
2. The proposed logo is simple, visually balanced, and generally pleasing to the eye. You can clearly see it from afar and recognize what it is; I do hear about our applicants/residents not knowing what our current logo represents. I like how the proposed logo appears versatile with easy application on a patch or a hat, as well as city documents. I would love to see our city employees wear hats and shirts with this logo. Unity. I like the mustard yellow color behind the sail and suggest that the water lines below be punched up with maybe a turquoise blue. One other suggestion...the font could have a little bit more of the Craftsman-style flair. Craftsman is the most prominent historic architectural style in the city. This could be a secret nod to the early development of the city. Just an idea.
Regardless, I am ready for some new swag to represent this fabulous City.
3. At first thought, it looks like a shark in the water. The old logo shows the sail next to the pier, which makes sense. I like the simplicity of the logo, but the sail on the water is not exactly distinct enough to rule out "shark" thoughts. In the presentation she circled the fan favorite where the sail was floating above the water, but then we see this sitting on top of the water with no distinction. The old logo, when one one color, floats above the water/pier as well. Maybe we need to just add that tiny separation to make it above the water. I like the fading water color and yellow as a sunset, but not that particular yellow as it looks kind of dull and "brassy" or "dated." I would prefer a mute color like it, but not so "brassy." Maybe pick up colors from the website to make it more uniform.
4. This take on the rebrand of the logo feels simplistic, which I enjoy. However, it feels bland and as if there is something missing. I also think that there is some inconsistency with the sizing of the new logo. I also think that the logo looks it's best when it is shown to have the ring on the outside, because the lack of borders feels uneasy to the eye.

5. The old logo has become outdated and relies far too much on color. It doesn't fit well on certain types of signs and documents, and it doesn't center well and is difficult to read. I prefer the new logo as it looks fresh, clean, and represents the city well. I think it will become iconic.
6. I like the logo for the city, I think it is new, fresh, modern... but I have some concerns for it on the police and fire side of things. While I like that it is identifiable and versatile, I think the official badges would look less "official" without the City seal.
7. In the presentation I preferred the font of the "hand written" in the same style, it provided a more historic feel, where in our community we have many historic homes and sites.
However, it would be less professional, but to have an option.
8. I'm not a huge fan of the angled middle bar in the "R" and "B". Outside of the Fire patch I think this is a great logo. Per Chief Butler, the Firefighter's union will probably not sign off on having their patches changed externally.
9. The new design looks fine. It is a good base but is missing "something" -- perhaps a pier? The new logo by itself in just black and white looks like a shark fin. :D
10. New Redesign brings updates our feel and look for RB. It brings us to the 21st century and seems to allow for multiple uses and most importantly uniformity as a City.
11. I like the current colors if that is what is chosen, but I would also like to see a lighter yellow background and maybe a more vibrant array of blues.
12. I think the proposed option is a big step forward and can be utilized with great success throughout the City for a wide range of applications.
13. I think the new design provides a modern, clean, and simple logo that will be versatile to fit across all City needs.
14. I love that the new logo is simple it does however feel a little bland like it is missing something.
15. The new logo is clean, clear, and easy to migrate to various media and branding platforms
16. Love the redesign. Cleaner look all around including for employee uniforms, fliers, etc
17. Would the Street Name Signs need to be changed to include the new logo?
18. It is a clean design and will be good in many different print media.
19. It should have dolphin(s) and the sail looks to much like a shark...
20. A slightly brighter yellow for the sun may be nicer
21. The redesign is more modern and a cleaner look.
22. very nice just brighter colors please
23. I like the redesign colors as well
24. I like the minimalist logo style.
25. Clean & versatile...I like it!
26. the colors are pretty flat
27. Perhaps brighter colors!
