Removal of the Blower Ban
We are law abiding Tax Payers that happened to live in the beautiful city of Redondo Beach. We resent the fact that we spend our hard-earned money to try to keep our city beautiful by HIRING Gardner's to manicure our lawns and clean the "City sidewalk and street gutters"
Now that you have taken away the right to use Electric or Battery-operated blowers, how are we suppose to keep our city beautiful? Our Police Dept has actually stalked some of the gardeners and issued warnings that they will fine the resident if their gardeners dare use a blower of any kind.
Blowers are being used very freely in the South part of our city and even at our very own N. Redondo Fire Station. We live close to parks and schools and there are people walking their young children, pushing baby strollers etc. There are several people that walk their dogs on our sidewalks and let them poop and don't even bother to pick it up.
You need to revisit the blower ban and help us keep our city beautiful! If the gardeners we hire, are not allowed to use the blowers, we have a better solution.
Since the sidewalks and street gutters belong to the city, you need to provide a service to all of us and make arrangements to have our sidewalks cleaned at least once a week and, be available to come and clean up after the people's dogs that poop there. Our gardeners want a big raise as they have to spend at least an extra hour to use a rake and a broom to clean up. If you cannot provide this service, please know we are not asking our gardeners to clean your property anymore! What are your plans to stop the pollution of dust and debris that are caused by the trash Trucks. How about the Street Sweeper? What about the blowers etc. used to keep the schools, libraries, City Police, City Offices and other City facilities clean? Are they being banned? It doesn't appear to us that this law is being equally enforced for everyone, just a small group who happen to live in N. Redondo.
We look forward to a new service provided by the city to maintain YOUR property to keep Redondo Beautiful! If you don't agree, please let us help by removing the blower ban!
