Dear Congresswoman Barragán:

I am writing to express the City of Redondo Beach’s support for the Marine Mammal Care Center’s Community Program Funding request, which has been submitted to your office.

The Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles (MMCC) is an invaluable partner in responding to and caring for marine mammals that are stranded or in distress in Redondo Beach and all of Los Angeles County. Through this public-private partnership, MMCC works closely with our city departments and officials, including law enforcement, animal control, lifeguards, harbor patrol, and others, to keep our beaches safe for marine mammals and humans alike.

MMCC plays a crucial role in protecting marine mammals and ensuring the health of our oceans. Their efforts benefit the animals they care for and support the local economy and the well-being of our communities. Community Project Funding for MMCC will help ensure they have the resources they need to continue their important work in our city and for all of Los Angeles County.

Thank you for considering this request, which Redondo Beach strongly supports.
