A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
RENEWAL OF THE MUNICIPAL ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL
SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND LOS
ANGELES COUNTY FOR THE TERM JULY 1, 2024 THROUGH
JUNE 30, 2029.
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) and the County of Los Angeles (“County”) entered into a Municipal Animal Care and Control Services Agreement (“Agreement”) for the performance of animal care and control services with the City; and WHEREAS, the current Agreement between the City and County expires June 30,2024; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement allows the City to transfer animals to the County’s Animal Care Centers, provides after hours animal control services at specified rates, and provides the annual adjustment of rates of these services; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to renew the Agreement between the City and County for the term July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2029 because the Agreement benefits the City by providing access to these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Redondo Beach Mayor and City Council authorize renewal of the Animal Care and Control Services Agreement with the County of Los Angeles commencing July 1, 2024, and continuing through June 30, 2029, attached hereto as “EXHIBIT A.” SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by City Council.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
