CITY OF REDONDO BEACH

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
Inglewood Ave SB RTO at Manhattan Beach Blvd Job No. 40960 CHANGE ORDER No 2
May 4, 2023
Description of work included in the contract:

1. Work for this right turn lane addition project includes: demolition and disposal of abandoned utilities, remove and re-construct existing PCC and AC pavements; construct new PCC and AC pavements with base and sub- base; remove and reconstruct curb & gutter, and 3 curb ramps per approved Plans and Specifications; remove and re-construct PCC sidewalk, cross gutter, catch basin, storm drain lateral and Concrete Driveway.

Work also includes: remove and reconstruct traffic signal pull boxes; remove and reconstruct traffic signal poles, pedestrian push button, countdown ped heads, luminaires, mast arms, conduits, loop detectors and sign post; signing and striping; provide traffic control, utility coordination and any other work required per Plans and Specifications.

II. Changes ordered:

The awarded project did not include improvements to the southwest corner of Inglewood Ave at Manhattan Beach Blvd. The controller located at this corner and operates the traffic signal has been later determined to be approaching the end of its useful life. The County, who will eventually operate the intersection, as part of the County maintained Inglewood Corridor, on behalf of the City of Redondo Beach and the City of Lawndale, further directed the City to bring it under the current standard. It required a new pole at the southwest corner and relocate the controller cabinet to northwest corner with new controller capable of video detection and comply with County standard. In regards to construction and other construction related changes that were required at this project site, the following change order items were negotiated with the contractor, All American Asphalt:
