ll. Changes Ordered:

The awarded project did not include improvements to the southwest corner of Inglewood Avenue at Manhattan Beach Boulevard. The controller located at this corner, that operates the traffic signal, was later determined to be approaching the end of its useful life. The County, who will eventually operate the intersection, as part of the County maintained Inglewood Corridor, on behalf of the City of Redondo Beach and the City of Lawndale, further directed the City to bring it under the current standard. The current standard requires a new pole at the southwest corner and relocation of the controller cabinet to the northwest corner with a new controller capable of video detection that complies with the County standard. In regards to construction and other construction related changes that are required at the project site, the following change order items were negotiated with the contractor, All American Asphalt:

Contract Time:

The above changes will increase the contract duration by three (3) working days.

However, due to an expansion of scope as directed by the County, construction is paused to properly design the significant improvements and account for the substantial lead time of the proposed traffic signal equipment. The items included in this change order were completed within the hiatus and consisted of preparatory work to ensure that when major construction resumes, it can be completed efficiently to minimize interruption to the intersection. The remaining working days for the project will be negotiated with the Contractor when the final scope and cost to construct the final improvements is determined.

VI. Compensation:

Payment made in association with this change order will be only for work actually performed and materials actually applied to the project, as determined by the City Engineer or his designee. This change order constitutes full and complete payment for all costs associated with the above changes inclusive of contractor's profit, direct and indirect overhead, insurance, supervision, labor, material, equipment, and lost business opportunities.
