TITLE
APPROVE A MODIFICATION TO THE PURCHASE ORDER WITH NATIONAL AUTO FLEET GROUP FOR THE PROCUREMENT OF FOUR POLICE DEPARTMENT PATROL 2025 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES INCREASING THE AMOUNT BY $20,103
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Council approved the purchase of five 2023 Ford Interceptor Police Patrol Vehicles from National Auto Fleet Group on October 18, 2022 for a total cost of $395,078. National Auto Fleet later advised the City that only one of the five units would be delivered by Ford and that the other four vehicles were unavailable due to supply chain issues. National Auto Fleet has since advised the City that the vehicles can be re-ordered as 2025 model year vehicles. The price, with upfitting, for the 2025 model year vehicles is $5,025.82 per unit more than the previously approved purchase order, for a total cost increase of $20,103.28. As these vehicles are essential to police operations, and the current units are beyond their normal replacement cycle, it is recommended that the City Council approve the updated purchase order.

Due to a number of factors, including significant supply chain issues affecting the automotive market, vehicle delivery was delayed, and then canceled, by the manufacturer on multiple occasions and only one of the five vehicles was delivered to the City. In order to obtain the remaining four vehicles, staff have been informed by National Auto Fleet Group that a re-order for the 2025 model year Ford Inceptors is required to continue with the purchase.
