Funding & Indemnity Agreement - HOST
The Los Angeles County Police Chief’s Association (“LACPCA”) and City of Pomona (“City”) have agreed to provide Los Angeles County Homeless Outreach Services Teams (“HOST”) Services funded by County of Los Angeles (“County”)(hereafter “Funding”). The mission of the law enforcement HOST is to work collaboratively with public and private partners to assist homeless individuals and address problems associated with homeless encampments by working in collaboration with outreach teams, consisting of subject matter experts, housing, mental health and recovery case managers and service providers, to get homeless individuals the services they need and by focusing on forming community partnerships with local leaders, civic groups, faith and community-based organizations to bring about community awareness on services available to assist homeless individuals (“Mission”).
In consideration for such HOST Services, and as a subrecipient of Funding, the City of Redondo Beach agrees as follows:
• Expenses allowable for reimbursement are for activities conducted by sworn personnel either on overtime or straight time for homeless outreach activities that are in line with the Mission; • HOST team will participate in HOST training;
• Submission of invoices to receive reimbursement must include all of the following:
o Agency Name & Region
o Employee name & Rank
o Overtime Hourly Rate
o Date Worked
o Amount of Overtime Hours Worked
o Supporting documentation, including overtime slips, description of HOST activities performed, and locations.
• Indemnification – The City of Redondo Beach hereby agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless LACPCA, City, and County, and their respective elected and appointed officers, employees and agents ("Indemnitees”) from and against any and all liability, including but not limited to demands, claims, actions, fees, costs, and expenses (including attorney and expert fees), arising from or connected with sole acts and/or omissions of the City of Redondo Beach arising from and/or relating to HOST services provided by the City of Redondo Beach, except for such loss or damage caused by Indemnitees.
The City of Redondo Beach agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and policies governing or related to the HOST services and Funding. The below signatory represents and warrants that they have full power and authority and are authorized to execute this Agreement on behalf of The City of Redondo Beach.
