TITLE

APPROVE THE FOURTH AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH KIM FUENTES FOR

PROFESSIONAL TRANSPORTATION TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $45,000 AND THE TERM JULY 1, 2024 TO JUNE 30, 2027

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As a municipal transit operator and recipient of federal, state, and local transit funding, the City is required to comply with federal, state and, local reporting and administrative requirements. These activities require technical expertise to complete reports involving the State mandate to implement a “trip reduction plan” to reduce the number of single passenger trips by employees to and from City offices. The transportation professional services contract with Kim Fuentes provides technical assistance to meet state and local compliance requirements and the development and implementation of transportation administration best practices. The proposed fourth amendment to the Agreement would increase the amount by $45,000 and extend the term to June 30, 2027. These ongoing services are budgeted in the Transit Fund and receive no support from the City’s General Fund.

BACKGROUND
On September 1, 2015, the City Council approved a contract with Kim Fuentes for consulting services related to federal, state, and local reporting and administrative requirements. These compliance requirements are ongoing and require continued services to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Ms. Fuentes has over 20 years of experience in the public sector and transit industry and provides consulting services for other cities in the South Bay. She also serves as the Deputy Executive Director of Administration for the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. In addition to ensuring the City’s compliance with reporting requirements, Ms. Fuentes will provide technical assistance associated with agency administration and reporting required by, but not limited to, the South Coast Air Quality Management District and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

The proposed fourth amendment to the Agreement would increase the contract amount by $45,000 for a total aggregate amount of $120,000 and extend the term of the contract through June 30, 2027.

COORDINATION
The fourth amendment to Agreement has been approved as to form by the City Attorney’s Office.
