From: LUKE SMUDE, ASSISTANT TO THE CITY MANAGER
TITLE
APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROJECT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CITYGATE ASSOCIATES, LLC. TO UPDATE THE CONSULTING STAFF ASSIGNED TO REDONDO BEACH
TO REFLECT A CHANGE IN COMPANY PERSONNEL AND INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF THE CONTRACT BY $4,880.88
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On June 20, 2023, the City Council approved a project services agreement with Citygate Associates, LLC. (Citygate) to complete a third-party deployment and organizational analysis of the Redondo Beach Fire Department to compliment the Feasibility Study performed by the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County (District). Citygate has requested that the agreement be updated to reflect a new Citygate President assigned to the project, which did not impact the term or overall cost of the agreement, and increase the total amount of the contract to accommodate the final work required for completion of the study. Work associated with the agreement has concluded.
There will be no follow-up action after approval of the amendment.
BACKGROUND
Exhibit C of the agreement with Citygate identifies the company staff assigned to complete the Redondo Beach Fire Department study ranging from President to Statistical Specialist. Citygate recently contacted City staff to indicate the President assigned to the Redondo Beach study was preparing for retirement and requested the contract be updated to reflect Chad Jackson as the new President. Citygate also completed additional work in preparation for their final presentation to Council that was not planned in the original agreement scope. An additional $4,880.88 in funding is being requested to account for this additional work. If approved, it will increase the total not to exceed amount of the agreement to $101,621.88.
Staff recommends updating the contract to reflect the change in the total amount of the contract as well as the personnel change within the Citygate organization. The President will provide internal oversight of the Citygate staff as they close out the contract.
COORDINATION
This item was coordinated with the Fire Department. The City Attorney’s Office approved the Amendment as to form.
