APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH ROBERT HALF, INC. FOR STAFF
AUGMENTATION SERVICES TO PROVIDE A TEMPORARY ACCOUNTING CLERK FOR THE FINANCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $20,000 AND TO EXTEND THE TERM TO DECEMBER 31, 2025
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City currently utilizes Robert Half, Inc. to provide as-needed staff augmentation services for the Information Technology, Community Development, and Financial Services Departments in order to assist with operational needs caused by staffing vacancies. Each Department has a separate agreement since the temporary staffing resources are derived from three different divisions/areas (Technology, Admin & Customer Support, and Finance & Accounting) within Robert Half, Inc.
The proposed agreement and amendments will provide the additional funding needed to maintain two temporary Computer Technicians for Information Technology, two temporary Assistant Planners for Community Development, and a temporary Account Clerk for Financial Services, while the Departments seek candidates to fill the currently vacant positions.
BACKGROUND
Information Technology Dept.
On October 17, 2023, the City Council approved an agreement with Robert Half, Inc. to provide temporary staff support services to the Information Technology Department, due to staff vacancies.
Following Council’s recent approval of updates to the Computer Support Specialist (CSS) Job

Following Council’s recent approval of updates to the Computer Support Specialist (CSS) Job Description, the Information Technology Department currently has two permanent CSS positions open for recruitment undergoing application review. Two contractors from Robert Half are currently augmenting the IT staff through June 30, 2024, while the permanent positions are filled. This amendment is necessary in order to cover accounts payables through the remainder of the agreement. The amendment does not extend duration.
Community Development Dept.
On March 12, 2024, the City Council approved an agreement with Robert Half, Inc. to provide temporary staff support services to the Community Development Department, which has two vacant planner positions. The proposed agreement will allow the Department to utilize two temporary Assistant Planners to provide ongoing support through September 30, 2024 until the staff vacancies are filled.
Financial Services Dept.
On November 21, 2023, the City Council approved an agreement with Robert Half, Inc. to provide temporary staff support services to the Financial Services Department due to staff vacancies. The Department currently has two Accountant positions and one Payroll Technician position that are vacant. The proposed amendment will allow the Department to continue utilizing a temporary Accounting Clerk to assist with daily operations until the staff vacancies are filled.
COORDINATION
The agreement and amendments were approved as to form by the City Attorney’s Office. Financial Services coordinated this item with the Information Technology Department and the Community Development Department.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for the agreement and amendments is available in the operations budgets for each respective Department.
