A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE SALARY
RANGE FOR THE POSITION OF WATERFRONT & ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 2-3.502 and 2-3.503 of Article 5, Chapter 3, Title 2, and Sections 2-3.1002 and 2-3.1003 of Article 10, Chapter 3, Title 2 of the Redondo Beach Municipal Code, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Redondo Beach (“City Council”) shall set forth from time to time the Class Titles, Specifications and salary ranges for job classifications; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the existing salary range for the position of Waterfront and Economic Development Manager to reflect such action of the City Council; and, WHEREAS, on January 16, 2024 City Council adopted Resolution No. 2401-002 to amend the Official Book of Class Specifications to increase and expand the scope of responsibilities for the position of Waterfront & Economic Development Manager; and WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Decision Package #63 as part of the FY 2024-2025 budget to increase compensation for the Waterfront & Economic Development Manager job classification by up to $30,000 per year in accordance with the expanded scope of responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, the position of Waterfront & Economic Development Manager is assigned to the Professional and Supervisory Association (“PSA”) bargaining unit, and the City discussed the proposed salary increase with PSA representatives; and
WHEREAS, after discussion with representatives of PSA it was agreed the position would increase by $23,508 per year. The renegotiated salary range for the Waterfront & Economic Development Manager is now at $9,170 - $11,912.
WHEREAS, the fully loaded value of the increase in salary for the position when including pension and other related benefits is $28,680 per year, which is under the $30,000 per year funding approved as part of the FY 2024-2025 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the current salary range for the position of Waterfront & Economic Development Manager is hereby increased to the range of $9,170 - $11,912 per month, in accordance with the recently expanded scope of responsibilities, and as previously approved by City Council on January 16, 2024.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
