A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO
BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, THE CITY
MANAGER, OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A
TRANSFER AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY
FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT FOR THE SAFE, CLEAN WATER
PROGRAM'S MUNICIPAL PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, on February June 25, 2020, the City of Redondo Beach and the Los Angeles County Flood Control District Governing Body entered into a Transfer Agreement for the Safe, Clean Water Program’s Municipal Program (the ‘Municipal Program”), covering Fiscal Years 2020-21 through 2023-24; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Program is designed to maximize the ability of local governments to address local stormwater and urban runoff challenges and opportunities; and WHEREAS, funding is under the Municipal Program is allocated proportionately based on each municipality’s contribution to the Safe, Clean Water Program; and WHEREAS, the City receives approximately $720,000 annually as part of the Safe Clean Water Municipal Program; and
WHEREAS, to successfully obtain the municipal funds, the City must adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of a new Transfer Agreement with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach hereby authorizes the Mayor, the City Manager, or the City Manager's designee to execute the Transfer Agreement with the Los Angeles County Flood Control District for the Safe, Clean Water Program’s Municipal Program.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
