A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING A PUBLIC
WORKS CONTRACT TO CALIPROMAX ENGINEERING, INC., A
CALIFORNIA CORPORATION, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,041,335
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARTESIA BOULEVARD
SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, JOB NO. 41330
WHEREAS, the seven (7) intersections along Artesia Boulevard within the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) are in need of modernization to address safety and operational improvements; and
WHEREAS, on July 9, 2024, the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach approved the Plans and Specifications for construction of the Artesia Boulevard Safety Improvements Project, Job No. 41330 (the “Project”), and authorized the City Clerk to advertise the Project for competitive bids on July 25, 2024; and
WHEREAS, on August 22, 2024, bids for the Project were received and publicly opened at the City Clerk’s Office; and
WHEREAS, Calpromax Engineering, Inc., a California corporation (“Calpromax Engineering, Inc.”), is the lowest and responsible bidder for the Project, as more particularly described in the Plans and Specifications thereof, and incorporated herein by reference, and is awarded the contract for this Project in the amount of $1,041,335; and WHEREAS, Calpromax Engineering, Inc. shall provide all applicable insurance certificates and bonds to the City for approval prior to the execution of the contract; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds have been appropriated for the Project in the adopted Fiscal Year 2024/2025 CIP Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Redondo Beach, California, awards the contract for the Artesia Boulevard Safety Improvements Project, Job No. 41330 to Calpromax Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $1,041,335 on the condition that all applicable insurance certificates and bonds shall be provided to the City for approval prior to the Mayor executing the contract on behalf of the City.
SECTION 2 The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
