APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH ROBERT HALF, INC. FOR STAFF
AUGMENTATION SERVICES TO PROVIDE A TEMPORARY ASSISTANT PLANNER AND A
TEMPORARY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT FOR A COST OF $45,000, INCREASING THE TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT FOR THE AGREEMENT TO $79,999 AND EXTENDING THE TERM TO DECEMBER 31, 2024
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This amendment proposes a $45,000 increase to the Agreement with Robert Half, Inc, to provide support for the Planning Division’s public counter and to assist with regular plan check service. The Administrative Assistant will provide temporary Permit Technician staffing while one of the City’s fulltime Permit Technicians is out on leave. The proposed amendment brings the total contract value to a new not to exceed amount of $79,999, which has been budgeted and is offset by plan check fee revenue. The Assistant Planner position will serve 36 hours per week, 9 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, along with the Administrative Assistant who will work 25 hours a week, 5 hours a day, Monday through Friday.
BACKGROUND
One of the Community Development Department’s full-time Planning Technicians is out on leave and the new Associate Planner is not available to begin counter work until November 2024. Robert Half Inc is able to provide temporary staffing to fill the positions and continue its important role of assisting the Planning Division in providing exceptional customer service to the community.
COORDINATION
The Community Development Department coordinated the preparation of this item. The proposed amendment was prepared by the City Attorney’s Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
The services provided by the contractor are offset by salary savings due to vacant positions in the Community Development Department.
