APPROVE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH DATA TICKET, INC. FOR THE
MANAGEMENT AND PROCESSING OF PARKING ENFORCEMENT AND ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2025
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In 2018, the City approved a contract with Data Ticket, Inc. to provide parking citation processing, payment and collection services, and parking fine revenue management. In August 2023, the City amended the Agreement to include additional administrative citation processing and payment services. The proposed second amendment will extend the current term of the Agreement for an additional year, through September 30, 2025. There is no change to the citation processing costs charged to the City.
BACKGROUND
The Police Department issues approximately 25,000 parking citations annually, the majority of which are for street sweeping or parking meter violations. The contract with Data Ticket, Inc. provides a comprehensive parking citation management system, including hardware to issue citations, citation processing and payment, revenue reporting, and web-based access to all citation processing data.
COORDINATION
The amendment has been prepared by the City Attorney’s Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
There will be no additional fiscal impact to extend the contract through September 30, 2025. Funding for the Agreement is available in the Police Department’s annual operating budget. Parking citations generate approximately $1.2M in General Fund revenue annually. Data Ticket is primarily paid on a per citation basis. The compensation schedule for Data Ticket’s citation processing services, as mentioned, remains unchanged under the terms of the amendment.
