Hi Ryan, thank you for your quick response to my letter. And hello Paige Kaluderovic.
I am the owner of , which is directly in front of one of the proposed speed cushion locations. Unfortunately I did not see the the notice regarding the September 23 meeting, or I most definitely would have attended and provided input. I've had the unfortunate experience of living next to a speed cushion in another city, and from my experience it created significant noise as cars went over the bumps--especially at speed--and even when cars did slow down they tended to accelerate once past the bumps, creating additional noise.
While I support the idea of measures to slow traffic on this street, and I initially supported the petition, I was under the impression I would have more input on the decision--especially regarding the cushion locations. I did not realize until receiving the October 7 letter that this process is about to be finalized, and even worse that the cushions would be permanent, as opposed to a temporary installation to assess their affect and level of noise or other unintended issues they might generate.
Perhaps these particular speed cushions and this location would not cause these types of adverse affects I've previously experienced, but as one of the residents who will be most directly impacted, I do protest their installation without at least including some sort of test period to evaluate any unintended impacts, and/or possible moving them to an different location on the street near residents who don't have the same noise concerns that I do.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely
Jonathan Liebert

Hi Jonathan Liebert,
A couple neighbors on your block circulated a petition to install speed cushions on the 700-800 block of N Paulina Avenue. Per the City’s speed cushion policy, the two-thirds support threshold was met, therefore the City performed an engineering study. All engineering policy thresholds were met, and the entire block was sent notices to discuss the topic and staff’s recommendation at the September 23, 2024 Public Some people who received this message don't often get email from . Hi,
I am a resident on and I received a letter dated Oct. 7 regarding the installation of speed cushions in my location. Apparently there was a previous letter regarding this, but I missed it, and the matter is now up for approval by the city council on 10/15.
I looked up RB information/regulations on the speed cushions, and it stated an appeal letter could be submitted via digital correspondence prior to the City Council's decision.
My questions is, would that letter be sent to this email address, or to a different recipient? Thank you,
Jonathan
