A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A 2024-2025
FISCAL YEAR BUDGET MODIFICATION TO APPROPRIATE
$156,836 FROM THE VEHICLE REPLACEMENT FUND TO THE
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR
OPERATING BUDGET TO FUND THE PURCHASE OF A FIRE
RESCUE BOAT
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach (“City Council”) to review the adopted budget from time to time; WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach’s (“City”) adopted budget needs to be modified to appropriate monies for necessary expenditures;
WHEREAS, the City has determined that the purchase of a fire rescue boat is necessary to support public safety and emergency response services; WHEREAS, the fire rescue boat is quoted at a cost of $156,836; and WHEREAS, the City has available funds in the Vehicle Replacement Fund to cover the full cost of the purchase; and
WHEREAS, the City’s adopted budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 must be modified to appropriate these funds for this specific purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The amounts allocated in the budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025, and the amounts required to meet conditions which have arisen during the budget year, require a modification in the budget appropriations; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget appropriation as adopted for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 is modified as follows:
$156,836 from the Vehicle Replacement Fund shall be appropriated to the Public Works Department 2024-2025 Fiscal Year operating budget, Vehicle/Equipment Replacement account.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 in accordance with the above modification.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
