Hello Mayor, Redondo Beach City Council, Staff, City Attorneys Office, RBPD, and RBFD - I deeply appreciate the excellent constituent service which each agency has provided to my family and neighborhood over the past decade that we have resided here. I have enjoyed seven years of service on the Public Safety Commission, and I was delighted to see the level of detail which Officer Kyle Lofstrom took to gather requests from my fellow commissioners last evening. As we follow a strategic plan - it is challenging to deviate from that approved plan to look at new ways to improve operations and safety for our residents, but we must try, and I appreciate the effort which Officer Lofstrom has taken to schedule panelists and visitors from City, County, and State entities. As a commissioner in my final year, I look forward to any data presentations, updates on PCH/Prospect and Artesia and Rindge safety measures, Juvenile Health and Safety, etc, which the City has the time and capacity to provide.

All of you are appreciated and thanks Mike, Joy, Chief Butler, and Chief Hoffman for running your services with excellence!

Thank you for all that you do for our city. It is appreciated.

I urge the city council to pause all cannabis activity until safe state testing of all products is assured.

I urge the city council to support a win-win plan of delivery-only that will prevent normalization of youth cannabis use and increased youth cannabis use, allow the city to collect tax revenue and allow cannabis companies to sell cannabis in Redondo Beach via delivery-only.

Council members Obagi and Nehrenheim must recuse themselves as they have taken cannabis industry donations, most likely from companies planning to apply for licenses in our city. This is not only unethical, but puts our city at risk of litigation. Thank you.

Dear City Council and City Leaders,
In place of my speaking to you live at tonight’s City Council meeting, I would like to thank you in this way.

When I learned that the city was honoring my late husband, Jack, tonight, I was filled with gratitude for this kind recognition of his professional accomplishments.

To this day, I receive messages of his students’ appreciation for his years on the field and in his classroom.

It is very heartwarming to witness these honors.

Heartfelt Thank You

The Council's plan to spot up-zone the BCHD site to 1.25 FAR is misguided. Unlike the City, BCHD provides the majority of its services outside of both Redondo Beach and the District. It is not a public safety entity like the RBFD and RBPD.

Either ALL P-I should be up-zoned and analyzed at a 1.25 FAR - or - BCHD should remain at the 0.5 FAR or 0.75 FAR or legacy existing 0.77 FAR. The City's preferential treatment will likely result in litigation, as stated in public comments by Mayor Light in the GPAC.

As a 15 year resident of Redondo Beach and a mother of two elementary aged children, I oppose the opening of any cannabis dispensaries in our town.

With 4% unemployment and a limited employment pool, might we overdetailing the job requirements of the city clerk? I would rather have 10 candidate with some qualifications than 1 fully qualified candidate who quits in their 3 week. Go bus drivers! Offer a training program to certification in 90 days.

I believe that positions of City Attorney and City Prosecutor should be appointed, not elected. These positions should be answerable to the City Council and Mayor and City Manager. If appointed and they do not satisfactorily fulfill the duties of the position, they should be removed/replaced without having to go to another election. There is no necessity for electing attorney or city prosecutor.
