Dear Mayor and Councilmembers,
With regret, I respectfully submit my resignation from the Planning Commission for personal health reasons. It has been a great honor to serve the City of Redondo Beach in this capacity. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire Planning Department staff—and especially to Marc Weiner and Sean Scully—for their unwavering dedication to the commission and for the personal support they have shown me over the past 3½ years. Their encouragement and professionalism made this a truly rewarding experience.
When Bill Brand first asked me to serve, I was hesitant and unsure if city planning was something I’d be interested in—or suited for. Fortunately, fellow commissioner Rob Gaddis convinced me to give it a try, assuring me I would enjoy the complexities and challenges of the role. He was absolutely right.
Lastly, I want to express my deep appreciation for our outstanding team of Planning Commissioners: Gale Hazeltine, Rob Gaddis, Doug Boswell, Jason Conroy, Roger Light, and Wayne Craig. There is no group I would have rather served alongside—dedicated, hardworking individuals with diverse perspectives, all united by a common goal: to listen to our residents, promote thoughtful, balanced development, and promote environmental sustainability in Redondo Beach.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve our community.
All My Best,
Sheila W. Lamb
